Managers should consider waiting until the League Cup matches have been played before locking in GW9 transfers, in case of new injuries.

Reasoning: The creator specifically advises delaying moves because several teams play in the League Cup this week.

Players/teams: Manchester City (Team context), Newcastle United (Team context), Brighton & Hove Albion (Team context), Arsenal (Team context), Liverpool (Team context), Aston Villa (Team context), Chelsea (Team context)

It might be sensible to wait for those games before thinking about locking in any moves just in case anyone were to get injured.

Aston Villa's upcoming run through mid-December makes their players attractive for the medium term, before a tougher sequence involving Chelsea, Leeds and Liverpool.

Managers should consider waiting until the League Cup matches have been played before locking in GW9 transfers, in case of new injuries.

Aston Villa's upcoming run through mid-December makes their players attractive for the medium term, before a tougher sequence involving Chelsea, Leeds and Liverpool.

Kinsky is the creator's preferred budget goalkeeper at £4.4m and is viewed as the best budget goalkeeper in the game.

Managers should generally avoid switching from Verbruggen to Kinsky because the goalkeeper upgrade is not worth the transfer.

Pedro Porro is not worth choosing over Jan Paul van Hecke for the next five gameweeks, particularly because Porro costs £0.4m more.

Marcos Senesi Silva is the Bournemouth defender the creator is looking to transfer in ahead of Leeds at home.

The creator plans to avoid Sunderland FPL picks for now because their multi-competition schedule may cause rotation and expose a lack of squad depth.

Gabriel is a reliable but expensive defensive option who the creator expects to remain a safe pick barring injury.

Gabriel is worth strong consideration on a wildcard even though Arsenal face Liverpool away next.

Vladimír Coufal Vuskovic and Niko Muharemovic are among the creator's best longer-term defensive options.

GW9 is not an attractive week to use the Free Hit for most managers; the creator prefers targeting GW14.

Mohammed Kudus is not a recommended buy despite recording two assists in his last four matches.

Pedro Neto is not a recommended transfer target despite matching Palmer's points total.

Managers should prefer finding the extra money for Marcus Tavernier or Kevin Schade rather than buying Julio Enciso at £5.5m.

Bryan Mbeumo could become a better buy if Manchester United change manager after continued poor results.

Managers with sufficient bench depth should bench Pascal Groß and Maxim De Cuyper this week.

Managers should consider holding João Pedro if he is expected to miss only two FPL gameweeks, depending on their other squad issues and available transfers.

Erling Haaland is the creator's preferred captain for GW9 because he tops the projections and faces Brighton at home.

Nicolas Jackson is the creator's most obvious João Pedro replacement because of his fixtures and form.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin is another good option for managers selling João Pedro.

Barry is a potential bargain at £5.6m and offers strong projected and underlying-goal appeal for a cheaper forward.

For a GW9 wildcard, the creator would choose a front three of Haaland, Jackson and Barry.

The Free Hit should generally remain unused in GW9 unless a manager has around five or six unavailable players and only one free transfer.
